Meet Dr Sunil Hirani

Dr Sunil Hirani is a highly experienced Specialist Orthodontist and the founder of SmileLux. With over 20 years of orthodontic experience, he has treated thousands of happy patients and is recognised at hospital consultant level for his expertise. Key highlights of his qualifications include:

• Triple board-certified specialist, recognised internationally
• Consultant-level qualified with extensive clinical experience
• Trains and lectures dentists and orthodontists across the UK, Europe, Asia and the USA
• Member of numerous professional dental and orthodontic bodies
• Extensive skill and experience treating patients with clear aligners and lingual, ceramic and fixed metal braces; actively teaches other orthodontists in this field

Dr Hirani currently serves as the chairman of the British Lingual Orthodontic Society (BLOS), keeping him at the forefront of the latest technological and clinical developments in orthodontics.

In 2018, he became an active member of the European Society of Lingual Orthodontics (ESLO), a distinction held by only 175 orthodontists worldwide.

In 2019, he was accredited by the World Society of Lingual Orthodontics (WSLO), making him the only consultant-trained specialist orthodontist in the UK to hold this prestigious qualification.

In 2023 Dr Hirani was awarded the Maurice Berman Award for clinical excellence from the British Orthodontic Society. This is the highest honor one can receive in the field of clinical orthodontics. Over the last 20 years only 7 people have won this prestigious prize. Dr Hirani is now the 8th recipient.

His clinical work has been evaluated and recognised by leading orthodontic experts from around the world.

Dr Hirani also serves as chairman of the Milton Keynes branch of the British Dental Association. Dr Hirani maintains strong relationships with dentists who refer patients to him, ensuring continuity of care and high-quality treatment for his patients.
